Published

on

Social Networks spread and brought up at a very high pace on internet from their starting days. Most of the social network were popular only on internet but with the growth of mobile networks, services came in front offering social networking for everyone through their mobile phones. In fact most of the people feel more comfortable to connect with their friends and families through their mobile phones instead of sitting in front of PC’s. After positive results of rapidly adopted mobile social networks, like twitter and Facebook mobile — mobile social networking is growing its boundaries.

A Good news for Pakistani mobile users is that a new service named “Pring” is out now.

Pring is made by e-Business (Pakistan) and is currently running in open beta and received a very positive feedback from Pakistani mobile community and thousands of people have already joined.

Pring lets you connect with your friends and family, or RSS feeds, Twitter accounts, Facebook accounts, custom applications, premium services all via your handset. It’s aim is to enable everything via your handset in a way that don’t require internet. This works very well because billions still do not have internet connectivity but do have basic SMS and voice access.

What is Pring?

Pring connects from your cell phone anywhere in Pakistan so you can follow updates from your friends via SMS, via the Pring site, via Facebook or Twitter. It’s concept is just like twitter where you follow other people to see their updates and people following you can see your updates. Anyone following you can off course comment on the updates from you and you can do the same with their updates.

In 140 characters or less you can send your text message through your mobile or internet without any cost. Pring is absolutely FREE and charges are charged by the regular message package you have subscribed of your cellular network. Service is very impressive and extremely fast. I’ve been using it from couple of weeks and found no slow downs or message failures in sending or receiving.

Unfortunately Pring is supporting only 3 cellular networks in Pakistan. (Warid, Zong and ufone)
Al three services have unique numbers of their own.

Warid users send their updates on 9536
ufone users send their updates on 414
Zong users send their updates on 2323

But they have promised to support all mobile networks in Pakistan very soon.
(I’ll update you when they’ll start supporting all networks)
