There are literally thousands of free applications available to merge and split pdf files together. Some are perfect but not free, some are free but not good. While searching I tried many free pdf mergers and splitters and found following 4 worth sharing.

2. Adolix Split and Merge PDF

Adolix Split and Merge PDF is freeware software that can be used to split PDF documents into multiple files and combine PDF files into a single document quickly.
Since the product is a freeware but still there are some limitations, you can merge at most 5 documents and in splitting process first 50 pages are considered from the PDF document. To remover the limitations you have to buy and upgrade to Adolix Split and Merge PDF Professional Edition.

3. Free Online Services for PDF Merging and Splitting

Merger:

This online service enables you to combine PDF documents into a single one, free of charge. All you need to do is select the PDF documents that you want to merge together on your computer and download the merged PDF document after the process.

Limitations:

* Maximum number of input files is 10
* Individual file size limit is 5 MB
* All uploaded files are removed after the merge pdf process has finished.

The online service enables you to split PDF documents into multiple pdf files, free of charge. All you need to do is select the PDF document that you want to split from your computer and download the splitted PDF documents after the splitting process.
