By default there’s no option at twitter to know how many, among the people that you’re following, are following you back.

At twitter you never know that the person you’re following will follow you back or not. Chances are always very low for this. But if you go on following people without knowing how many of them are following you back, you’ll end up with a bad balance between the people you’re following and your followers.

To take care of this, Tweetelity is the best online tool. Tweetelity helps you mass unfollow people on Twitter your are following, but are not following you back.

The simplest tool to mass unfollow all those mean non-followers at twitter.

Just sign in using oAuth (you never give your twitter’s password to tweetelity) and see all the people you’re following, people following you or both at the same time.

Just select, People I’m following from the drop down menu and select all those that are not following you back, and hit the “Block” button at the bottom of the page. (Mass unfollow is now against twitter’s terms of usage).

Non followers will be removed from your list within seconds. You can go to your twitter profile to see the change instantly.

If you are at twitter and follow people often then you must have seen those DM’s (direct messages) from the person that you followed. Ever wondered how they send it as soon as you follow them?

Well this is because of the third party service that the person is using to send customized greeting messages to his/her followers automatically. These auto DM’s not only indirectly introduce yourself to your followers but also attract them to your product/site that you’re running (if you include a link in your DM).

So, want to send an automatic personalized direct message (DM) to your followers at twitter as well?

Well, for this there are dozens of services, but after a little research I found TwitterDM the best of all.

Twitterdmer lets you set a customized auto DM for your followers at twitter.
The interface is pretty easy, all you have to do is login with your actual twitter username and password and write your DM.

After setting the message, just press “enable twitter dmer” and you’re all done.

If you ever need to edit your DM, make sure you hit that “Change custom DM” button before leaving the page to save the changes.

Want to disable auto DM completely, click that “disable twitter dmer” button and your auto DM’s will be disabled.

This isn’t hard, is it? Know any other better or easier service than this one? Let us know in the comments.

Twitter can help you to drive a good amount of visitors to your blog if you have numbers of genuine followers. Twitter Power users attract thousands of visits from their followers just from twitter.

You can share your articles manually to twitter’s home page or by installing a twitter share button in your blog posts. But in both the ways you are tweeting manually! How about making this twitter update, an automatic process so your blog updates are tweeted automatically to your twitter followers.

There are many third party tools to set up this automatic process. But here are top 4 ways to connect your blog RSS feeds to your twitter account, so whenever you update your blog, your post is tweeted automatically.

1. Feedburner.com

Feedburner is popularly known because of its RSS Feed installation and management. You can add your twitter account to it’s sharing options.

1. Sign in Feedburner

2. Go to Publicize tab, and from left column, choose “Socialize”.

3. On the right, Click Add Twitter Account, and let the OAuth connect to your twitter account, “Allow” the access when asked on twitter page.

4. When redirected back to feedburner page, Save the settings.

2. TwitterFeed

TwitterFeed.com connects your blog’s RSS Feeds with your twitter account, and automatically tweets your updates from your Feeds. To set up an account on twitterfeed, do these steps:

1. Sign up at TwitterFeed

2. Create a new feed, by entering your existing fee URL of your blog.

3. On the next step, authenticate your twitter account, using oAuth (you do not have to tell twitter username & password to twitterfeed)

4. Done! From then on your new feeds updates will automatically be tweeted within seconds to your twitter profile.

3. RSS2Twitter.com

RSS2twitter works almost like twitterfeed but here you can use one RSS feed with multiple twitter accounts as well. You can use custom title and prefix to you twitter updates.

Just sign up and add your RSS feed details. Twitter account will be connected through secure OAuth method.

UPDATE: Service has been discontinued!

4. FeedNest.com

FeedNest is good an rather simpler in sign up process, but beside your Feed URL you would also have to give both your twitter username and password. Removal of your account from FeedNest can be done from the home page easily.

UPDATE: Service has been discontinued!
