Last summer I developed a small program named “XP Hidden Shortcut” which creates an additional (hidden) shortcut in Windows XP’s start menu (under RUN).

Windows Vista and Windows 7 users have a small built in feature of capturing screenshots known as – Snipping Tool. But Windows XP users do not have any application like this in Windows’ built in programs list. What about them? If you have forgotten your Windows XP account’s password, then you can still login through another account – that is “Administrator” account of windows and change or remove your own account’s password from there. It’s an old trick but still unknown by many Windows XP users.

The use of any non-certified visual style is disallowed by Microsoft’s certificate protection. To keep the Microsoft Windows branding intact, Microsoft added digital signatures to their themes, which are validated at theme installation.

A system was brought to me last week by my friend with windows xp installed in it. The windows installed was old and pretty much corrupted and asking for fresh new installation. He insisted me to save the user accounts and their documents and also the program files that were taking well over 20 GB or so.
The other partitions on that hard drive didn’t have enough space to create backup for documents [...]

One very handy feature of Windows Vista is its Explorer’s breadcrumbs navigation address bar, which simplifies the browsing/navigation in Windows directories.
