In Office 2007 when a you select text and then move your cursor over the selection, an annoying little toolbar called the “Mini Toolbar” shows up.

Designed to give you quick access to common formatting options (like bold, underline, and italic, for example), this new feature is ON by default.

Unfortunately, not all users particularly like the Mini Toolbar, but if you want to turn it off, you can.

Word 2007, Excel 2007 and Powerpoint 2007 must be the most common applications you use in Office 2007 suite.
This Mini toolbar is by default Enabled in all these Products, so if you want to disable it, you have to open these applications one by one to disable it.

Here is the option to search for, to disable this.

1. Press Office Button in top left of window.
2. Press (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) Options.
3. On the Main window that appears, deselect the checkbox “Show Mini Toolbar on Selection”.

I personally recommend you disable it. If you are usually selecting text or right-clicking and copying or cutting text, the problem with this toolbar is that it gets in your way and hinders your normal method of work.

But It’s upto you to decide if you like it or not.
